The history of developing of shipbuilding at the Sevastopol marine plant, one of the largest shipbuilding enterprises in Ukraine, has more than two centuries.

A little yard under the name of "Sevastopol Admiralteistvo" was founded in the convenient bay of the Black Sea at the South -West cost of the Crimean peninsula in the time of foundation of Sevastopol town in 1783.

During the period of existence, the shipbuilding yard has gotten the constructing experience of the first class navy vessels and vessels of special purposes.

Transborder is a mobil platform with vessel tracks laid on it in longitudinal way. The platform has the going wheels and moving shift in transverse direction on the rails laid in the, so to say, transborded hole. The hole deep is chosen in the way that the marks of the vessel tracks of the transborder and of the shipway are coinside. The transborders are divided on the self propelled and non self-propelled have being moved with on the help of draught equipment - winch, capstan etc. They are devided horizontal moving and shutting transborders.

The horizontal moving transborder provides the vessel transmission or its parts (sections, blocks) from one position to another if these positions do not placed successively. The shutting transborder is used on the transverse slipways instead of chatting vessel trolley. Last time are used vessel with trolleys with the rotatied wheels (to 90C) and reciprocal cross vessel ways instead of transborders of horizontal moving.
